TRA2024: When and where to find EM-Tech

The EM-Tech project will participate to the upcoming TRA2024, don’t miss the opportunity to get in touch with the project partners, CINEA, the E-VOLVE cluster as well as EARPA and 2Zero.

Paper presentation: “Innovative e-motor technologies for e-axles and e-corners vehicle architectures enabling highly efficient and sustainable e-mobility”

The paper written by Bo Wang USR et. al. will be presented by Eric Armengaud on Monday, April 15 between 05:15 and 06:30 PM as part of the Session “Sustainable Mobility of People and Goods/Technical 2.2.5 Electric” in Hall 3C (Serpentine Hall). The paper is a joint result of the HighScape and the EM-Tech project and we are inviting you to join the presentation.

EC Lunchtime Session: “Towards zero emission vehicles: From batteries to demonstration”

The panel presentation, organized by CINEA is taking place at the EC Stand, Agora and takes place on Monday, April 15 starting from 12:30. The EM-Tech project will be presented as part of the E-VOLVE Cluster and we are looking forward to the exchange with the projects USER-CHI, eCharge4Drivers and the cluster BatteryHeroes.

Poster Presentation: “E-VOLVE Cluster: Increasing innovation efficiency to support the transition towards sustainable e-mobility”

The EM-Tech project is part of a joint publication from the E-VOLVE cluster, accepted for poster presentation. Join us on April 18 starting from 09:45 in Hall 8C – Poster Area – Simmonscourt Stage 4.

Innovate UK: IAAPS and EM-Tech

Don’t miss to step by Hall 4, Stand 7. There you’ll find our project partner IAAPS and EM-Tech results!

EARPA Stand: E-VOLVE Cluster

Join the EARPA Stand in Hall 4 and get to know more about the E-VOLVE Cluster, the member projects and the activities pursued.

2ZERO Stand: Project Portfolio

And close to the EARPA Stand, you will find the 2Zero stand where you can get your copy of the project portfolio covering EM-Tech as selected project from 2Zero.

We are looking forward to the TRA2024 and would like to thank all colleagues from CINEA, EM-Tech, E-VOLVE, EARPA and 2Zero for their support and engagement.

“Towards the sustainable vehicle era”

“Towards the sustainable vehicle era”

In November, Cars@PolitoPolitecnico di Torino organized and conducted the workshop “Towards the sustainable vehicle era” where the EM-Tech project has been part of the poster session.

The event, has been an excellent opportunity for both academic as well as industrial partners coming together and exchanging on most recent innovations; such as the EM-Tech partners Cars@PolitoPolitecnico di Torino, represented here by Antonella Accardo and Nicola Amati, and Ideas & Motion, represented by Claudio Romano.

Thank you very much for the fruitful exchange as well as perfect organization of the workshop!

Eco-Mobility 2023

🔵 How to achieve 100 % sustainable mobility? Circular Economy – from Cradle to Grave and back to Cradle 🔵

On November 16 and 17, the 18th A3PS – Austrian Association for Advanced Propulsion Systems Conference Eco-Mobility 2023 took place in Vienna and the E-VOLVE cluster and all partner projects have been presented by Eric Armengaud, leading the working group “industrialization and exploitation” of the cluster.

This year’s theme of the conference was “How to achieve 100 % sustainable mobility? Circular Economy – from Cradle to Grave and back to Cradle“ and provided excellent keynote speeches and ground breaking input in the thematic sessions provided by the international participants.

The E-VOLVE cluster presentation was part of the session “AVC Advanced Vehicle Concepts” and focused on presenting the cluster as well as the projects and their innovative approaches as contribution to the European R&D landscape. Chaired by Brandstätter Bernhard from Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH and lead of the cluster working group “Scientific Board”, the session concluded with a panel discussion with Christian Kurzböck from Virtual Vehicle and a vivid exchange among the participants of the session.

We would like to thank A3PS and Conference Chair Dr. Michael Noest, MBA in representation of the organizers for the invitation and excellent organization and all participants for the fruitful discussions. We are looking forward to further exchange.

TU Ilmenau Research Night – Practical insights into use of X-in-the-loop techniques in the domain of automotive engineeringTU Ilmenau Research Night –

Marius Heydrich from TU Ilmenau was presenting the EM-Tech project at the TU Ilmenau Research Night. Have a read on his report of this evening.

“As everyone knows, a modern vehicle is a quiet complex constellation of hard- and software components. Especially electric vehicles have more electrically driven systems than those with ICE, which increases the number of control units and software code lines as well. Therefore, new approaches are needed to accelerate the development and testing of next generation EVs. Highly common are the so-called X-in-the-loop techniques, making it possible to investigate systems and components in the virtual area before testing them in hybrid or under real-world conditions.

This approach was successfully used for vehicle and control development in the XILforEV – Horizon 2020 Project and EVC1000 Project and is now a key part in the EM-TECH project. To communicate the project and its scope to a broad audience, I participated in the Ilmenau Science night that took place on Saturday, 1st July 2023 at Technische Universität Ilmenau.

Not even the light rain on that evening stopped hundreds of people of all ages from visiting the ThIMo I building to get information about the current research activities and latest results. To tackle the weather, we moved parts of the programme into the workshop at short notice to allow visitors to attend dry. Anyway, what is a better background for speeches about automotive engineering than staples of car tires? 😁

With speeches of approximately 20 minutes, me and other researchers of the Automotive Engineering Group intended to make our research visible and understandable for everyone. In my speech, I explained the X-in-the-loop approach, which was the perfect framework to also communicate the EM-TECH project to the people and to further discuss the background.

In my opinion, the event was perfect for promoting the project and its recognition by a broad public audience. Hopefully, the next Ilmenau Science Night in 2025 will be the framework for more detailed discussions!””

Marius, thank you very much for your great presentation and for sharing your thoughts with us!
