RTR Summary Report now available

The RTR summary report is now available, presenting the latest progress and outcomes of the project.

EM-TECH was highlighted in the joint session on “Electric Motor Technologies for Next Generation EVs”, where discussions focused on the transition from development to integration, validation, and industrial readiness. As projects approach completion, emphasis has shifted toward demonstrating technical maturity and preparing solutions for real-world application.

The session explored key advancements including system-level optimisation of motor configurations, innovative cooling strategies for high power density, and lightweight, integrated designs. It also addressed broader challenges such as the circularity of permanent magnets, reducing dependency on critical raw materials, and scaling manufacturing processes.

Looking ahead, the discussion underscored that beyond technical validation, coordinated ecosystem development will be essential to enable large-scale deployment and fully realise the potential of next-generation electric motor technologies.

2Zero State Representative Group visits Politecnico di Torino

Politecnico di Torino was pleased to welcome the 2Zero State Representative Group for a visit dedicated to ongoing Horizon Europe activities supporting the transition to zero-emission mobility. The meeting offered an opportunity to showcase Politecnico di Torino’s active role as a partner in three Horizon Europe projects EM-TECH, HighScape, and SmartCorners, and their contribution to the objectives of the 2Zero Partnership.
The visit fostered an open exchange on project progress, innovative technological and urban solutions, and the strong synergies emerging across the three initiatives. It also highlighted the importance of connecting European policy ambitions with concrete research and innovation actions, strengthening collaboration between institutional stakeholders and project partners working towards a more sustainable, zero-emission transport future.
