The approximately 70 participants coming mainly from Styria and Carinthia including representatives from funding authorities were listening to presentations of relevant national R&D programs and initiatives where EM-TECH created a possible link to a European initiative.
The networking after the presentations gave great room to exchange and discuss new ideas and initiatives. The University of Bath and IAAPS Ltd team attended the Transport Research Arena 2024 conference in Dublin in April, as part of a broader presentation of Horizon Europe projects managed by Innovate UK with the EM-TECH project and a 3D printed prototype of the e-gear approach.
Footfall was very high during the first two days, with attendees from various sectors, including e-bikes, CNG-powered freight trains, agricultural vehicles, and high-performance passenger cars. Representatives from all four UK nations, Ireland, and Germany were also present. Consequently, many conversations were with people who found the e-gear interesting.
The 3D-printed prototype and the presentation complemented each other well, effectively explaining the technology and its applications. Despite the increasingly virtual world, a physical model that can be handled still attracts significant attention. The LED display and prototype were effective crowd magnets and were impressive features at the Innovate UK stand.

Paper presentation: “Innovative e-motor technologies for e-axles and e-corners vehicle architectures enabling highly efficient and sustainable e-mobility”
The paper written by Bo Wang USR et. al. will be presented by Eric Armengaud on Monday, April 15 between 05:15 and 06:30 PM as part of the Session “Sustainable Mobility of People and Goods/Technical 2.2.5 Electric” in Hall 3C (Serpentine Hall). The paper is a joint result of the HighScape and the EM-Tech project and we are inviting you to join the presentation.
EC Lunchtime Session: “Towards zero emission vehicles: From batteries to demonstration”
The panel presentation, organized by CINEA is taking place at the EC Stand, Agora and takes place on Monday, April 15 starting from 12:30. The EM-Tech project will be presented as part of the E-VOLVE Cluster and we are looking forward to the exchange with the projects USER-CHI, eCharge4Drivers and the cluster BatteryHeroes.
