EM‑TECH at RTR2026: Final Project Results and Key Impact Highlights

During the RTR2026, the EM‑TECH project took the stage to present its final achievements in the session “Electric motor technologies for next-generation EVs.” As EM‑TECH has concluded its activities, the conference offered an ideal platform to communicate the technological breakthroughs and the broader impact achieved through three years of European collaboration.

A central focus of the presentation was the significant reduction in rare-earth materials, a core target of the project and a major step toward more sustainable, cost‑efficient and geopolitically resilient electric motor production. Additionally, both EM‑TECH motor concepts – the in‑wheel motor and the axial‑flux motor – reached performance targets that drew considerable attention from industry and research stakeholders alike.

Conference participants showed strong interest in EM‑TECH’s approach and many of these exchanges continued at the E‑VOLVE Cluster stand, where the project’s outcomes were further discussed in depth.

All final results are available through the FINAL WEBINAR SERIES and the OnePager summaries, providing a comprehensive overview of the project’s technical achievements and expected market relevance.

Thanks a lot to our coordinator Martin Weinzerl from AVL for presenting, to our project officer, the colleagues from HEFT and VOLTCAR with whom we were presented together and all organizers, especially 2ZERO for all efforts creating a great conference!
