Milestone reached: TRAXIAL next-generation axial flux motor prototype

The EM-TECH project has reached an important milestone with Traxial’s successful development of a next-generation axial flux motor prototype.
TRAXIAL addressed a core engineering challenge:
👉 Achieving higher power density while significantly reducing rare earth material usage.
The result is a compact, modular motor designed for scalable production and integration into B & C segment vehicles, offering OEMs a powerful and sustainable drivetrain solution.
Key Highlights:
· ⚡ Peak power: 232 kW @ 800 V
· 🌀 Peak torque: 325 Nm
· 📏Total Axial length: 99 mm (including housing)
· 💪 Gravimetric power density: > 9.5 kW/kg & volumetric power density: > 30 kW/l (including housing)
· 🌿 Total magnet mass: < 1 kg & minimized heavy rare earth content (< 0.5% of total magnet mass)
This achievement proves that high power density and sustainability can go hand in hand, supporting Europe’s transition to greener mobility solutions.
